RF Technicians

Summary:

SAI Group is looking for an experienced RF Technician to install, test, commission and integrate RF systems on DAS, public safety, small cell, carrier add and WIFI sites. The experienced DAS RF Technician must possess experience in installing these systems. This position requires the candidate to confidently display their technical abilities, including clear communication, technical expertise, reading RF and construction drawings, leading a team of RF Technicians, complete necessary documentation and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Description:

  • Candidate will be responsible for supporting DAS, CRAN, Small Cell, LTE radio adds, site surveys, RF barrier, transport and site integration work as needed in the New England area.
  • Primarily operating out of the New England area, but occasional travel outside of this area is expected.
  • Lead crews, manage material and equipment on site to complete projects, reporting directly to the Technical Services Operations Manager.
  • Occasional work outside normal daytime hours is expected.
  • Work closely with and support SAI RF Technical and Construction teams.
  • When available, attend relevant training courses.
  • Accountable for the Scope of Work for each job.
  • Provide project schedules and updates.
  • Ensure manpower and resources are adequate for an on-time job completion and within budget.
  • Guarantee all safety precautions are met and maintain quality control of project.
  • Provide and responsible for Red-Line drawings and supportive closeout documentation.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience as a crew lead is required.
  • Integrating Nokia/ALU & Ericsson radio base station (RBS & mRBS) radios is an asset.
  • SpiderCloud, JMA Teko, SOLiD, CommScope and Corning DAS applications is required, certificate of training is an asset.
  • WIFI and Public Safety systems is an asset.
  • Installing and terminating RF cables is required.
  • RF sweep gear (spectrum analyzer, line and antenna analyzer), signal generator and PIM test gear is a required, certificate of training an asset.
  • Installing and terminating fiber optic cables is an asset.
  • OTDR, power meters and fiber scope equipment is an asset.
  • Ability to read and understand Engineering and Construction drawings and documents.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Be a motivated team player willing to learn, be punctual, and able to prioritize.
  • Must value safety above all else
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to work from a buck truck and man lifts.
  • Ability to climb and work from a ladder, including working above your head such installations in ceilings.
  • Ability to climb stairs as sites under construction, will not have working elevators.
  • Frequent bending, squatting, reaching, pulling, pushing.
  • Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
